The history of OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi is inseparable from the history of one of Turkey's largest organized industrial zones — the OSTİM Organize Sanayi Bölgesi. In 1967, the entrepreneur and visionary Cevat Dündar, together with a group of like-minded people, laid the foundation of the OSTİM industrial cluster in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara. Originally conceived as a site for small and medium-sized businesses, OSTİM has, over the decades, grown into a vast ecosystem of more than 5 million square meters, bringing together over 6,200 enterprises and more than 60,000 employees working in 17 sectors and 139 lines of activity, including aerospace, defense, automotive, medical technology and IT. Realizing that the sustainable development of industry is impossible without skilled personnel and scientific potential, the OSTİM management created an educational foundation — the OSTİM Education, Research, Development, Improvement and Solidarity Foundation. This foundation became the founder of OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi, officially established in 2017 by a decision of the Turkish parliament. The university enrolled its first students in the 2020 academic year, continuing the traditions of the previously operating OSTİM Akademi. The key idea was to create a new — third- and fourth-generation — university where education, science and industry are merged into one. The campus was deliberately placed in the very heart of the industrial zone, allowing students from day one to be surrounded by real enterprises, laboratories and technoparks. The unique "sanayinin üniversitesi" (university of industry) model means that curricula are developed jointly with industrial partners, internships and placements start in the first year, and research is conducted in direct contact with the manufacturing sector. The university comprises three faculties — Engineering, Architecture and Design, Economics and Administrative Sciences — two graduate institutes (natural and social sciences), a vocational school and a school of foreign languages. Among the more than 50 programs are areas rare for Turkish universities, such as aerospace engineering, materials science and nanotechnology, mechatronics, cybersecurity and embedded systems. The university quickly gained recognition: in the number of awards at TEKNOFEST, TÜBİTAK and TÜBA competitions it ranks third in Turkey. At OSTİM Teknopark and the Innovation Factory, students create prototypes and conduct R&D, turning learning projects into real startups. The Erasmus+ program and international partnerships with universities in Europe, Asia and the Americas give students a global outlook, while proximity to Ankara's defense and aerospace enterprises provides unique career opportunities in Turkey's strategic industries.

Campus Features
The mission of OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi is to become Turkey's leading industrial university, building an unbreakable link between the industrial sector and higher education. The university aims to train not just degree holders but entrepreneurs and engineers capable of driving real-world development and the digital transformation of manufacturing. At the heart of the educational model lies the principle of "production-oriented knowledge and technology": every student receives a theoretical foundation reinforced by mandatory work in laboratories, project teams and internships at OSTİM enterprises from the first year. The university aims to integrate education, research and industry into a single ecosystem in which academic knowledge is immediately tested in practice and industrial challenges become topics for master's and doctoral theses. Particular attention is paid to Industry 4.0 technologies — robotics, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, additive manufacturing and cyber-physical systems. Through business incubators, mentorship programs and direct access to more than 6,000 companies in the industrial zone, the university nurtures a generation of leaders ready to strengthen Turkey's competitiveness in the global high-tech market and shape the sustainable industrial economy of the future.
