About University

History and Mission

Istanbul Beykent University was founded on 9 July 1997 by the Adem Çelik–Beykent Educational Foundation and began teaching in the 1997–1998 academic year. Over the following decades it grew into one of Istanbul's large private universities, with several campuses across the city: Ayazağa-Maslak (Sarıyer district), Beylikdüzü/Büyükçekmece, Taksim and Hadımköy. The university comprises eight faculties along with schools, institutes and research centres.

Campus Features

Beykent focuses on applied, career-oriented education: its stronger areas include medicine and dentistry, engineering and architecture, law, economics and management, and communication. Teaching is in Turkish and English, with a share of fully English-medium programmes. The university actively takes part in Erasmus and the Bologna Process, supports numerous student clubs and sports teams, and provides student accommodation.

Requirements and documents for international students

Required Documents

High school diploma

Original school-leaving diploma with an officially certified translation into Turkish or English (notary or consulate).

Academic transcript

A transcript of grades from the secondary school years, with translation.

Exam results

Official results of a school-leaving or entrance exam recognised by YÖK (e.g. national diploma/Abitur/IB/GCE/Tawjihi or SAT taken within the last two years).

Passport

A valid passport (photo page); a Turkish ID or Blue Card if applicable.

Language proficiency certificate

A Turkish certificate (TÖMER, usually B2/C1) and/or English certificate (TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic) depending on the programme's language.

Photographs

Biometric photographs for the file and student records.

Good news! For most programs YÖS and SAT are not mandatory

Proficiency in the language of instruction

For Turkish-medium programmes, a Turkish proficiency certificate (usually B2; C1 for medicine and dentistry). For English-medium programmes, proof of English (e.g. TOEFL iBT from 72–79 or PTE Academic from 55; the exact threshold depends on the programme). Applicants without a language certificate may take a one-year preparatory course.
